The "Tie up my Heart" crocheted heart is finished. It was designed by Nirmal Kaur, and it took me half an hour to complete.

I think it could work nicely for one of those things that you sew on other things that I can't spell right now. Applique. That's what it is. It could also work at the center of a granny square or something. I have a lot of stuff here that I think could be made into larger projects. But that will have to wait for now.

So the next project is a larger one again. Anybody need a girl's baby blanket?

For once I have the yarn that the pattern calls for! Bernet Softee Baby, in pink. I don't have enough of any yarn to make it, so I'll need to go buy some more for this project. It looks like a fun pattern though,  so I am excited to make it!

The second dishcloth made from the adapted pattern is done! It took just over four hours to complete, and here it is in various stages of completion.

You'll notice a pair of pliers in the top right corner of the second picture. That's because I had to use a needle with a bigger eye to weave in the ends, and it was difficult to get through using just my fingers at times. In the end though, I think it has a great end product. It ended up at 9.5 inches square. Quite lovely if I do say so myself!

Now, my next project is a crocheted heart. It can be used for a few things, so we'll see what I end up doing with it.

I'm making it out of this purple worsted weight, because again that's what I have. I don't imagine this one will be too complicated. I'm excited to see how it turns out!

Alright, so I've put in another hourish on this bookmark-pattern washcloth. Here it is!

So I just need to make two more motifs for it. I think I'm going to try to add in something in the empty spaces so it can be used for a washcloth. I'm not sure it'd work for a tablecloth at all because I think everything would just catch on it.  I'm not going to think about it tonight though. I'll probably do a bit more crochet, but I'm going to leave it at that. Hope you enjoyed this update!

Happy February the Seventh! I had to use spellcheck with February because I can never get it spelled right. I pronounce it more "Feb-u-airy" but I know there are two 'r's so I end up typing things like Feburary. But that's irrelevant.

I have an update on the bookmark pattern! It was designed by Kathy L. North from Designs by KN
http://www.designsbykn.com/
There are free patterns on the site.

First off, I am using a much heavier yarn and bigger hook than the pattern calls for, which is why I wanted to make it into washcloth instead. I've already started that, and I think it's going to look good, except... now I think it might actually be better as a full-on tablecloth, because there are going to be a lot of gaps in it that I'm not so certain will work for a washcloth. But I'll let you take a look at what I have so far and tell me what you think.

Each motif is approximately 3.25 inches, and the three linked together are approximately 10 inches. Each one has also been right around 1/2 hour so far. I like how it's looking, but I'm just not sure what I'm going to end up with right now. Hopefully I'll be able to get a 3X3 square done in the next couple days, and then I can decide from there. Anyway, I think that's about it for today. Have a great night!

Baby shrug is done! It took right around six and a half hours to complete, and here it is!

All done and ready to wear.

And the calendar didn't call for it to be finished until tomorrow! I'm very happy to have gotten it done. There were some setbacks that made it take longer than I wanted it to, but in the end it worked out just fine. Speaking of schedule, though, I've decided that for February, I'm going to just go from one project to the next. So if a project takes me less time to complete, I'll just go straight to the next one, and if one takes a little longer, then I'll complete it before I move on. I hope it will make things more orderly.

With that in mind, let me introduce my next project. It's a bookmark.

But since I have no need of yet another bookmark, I am thinking that I'll use the cotton to make another washcloth in this pattern. We'll see how well it turns out!

Okay, so today's blog is not an update... I ended up out and about a lot today, so I didn't actually get anything on the baby shrug done. However, I have some pics of an old blanket that I made a year or two ago.

This was my own design. It's just a basic single crochet for the whole back, and then crocheting the flowers and sewing it on.  I really enjoy making blankets like this. It's really only bound by technical knowledge and visualization. If you remember my post with the little car motif, I talked about doing a roadway with cars on them.  This is the sort of thing that I was thinking. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this tangent post. Keep smiling everybody!

Okay, so today's update... I got some ends woven in and the front of the shrug sewn to the back, and that's it. It's just been a really busy day, and I haven't had the time I wanted to dedicate to crocheting. Luckily I still have 3 more days to finish this off. Hopefully I'll be able to put in more time tomorrow than I did today, but we'll see. Anyway, here's a pic of the flower that got done yesterday.

And here are the pics of what's done so far.

So the one sleeve has its ends done, but it's not sewn in yet. It's looking pretty good, though, and I think it'll be super cute once its all finished. That's it for tonight, but check in tomorrow to see how much work I've got done by then. Night.
