Okay, so continue working on a sleeve today. I didn't get a lot done, but it's better than nothing. As a reminder, here is what the sleeve looked like yesterday.

Here is what it looks like today.

And here is a close up.

Isn't it pretty?

Fantastic news everybody! I am making a cardigan for pay! I started a little while ago, but I've decided today that there is no real point in working on it in the background, so I'm going to take a day or two to concentrate on it so that I can get it done for my client. So for starters, I'm using 100% acrylic Red Heart Soft yarn in teal. I got it in a 10 oz ball that was on clearance at Michaels a few weeks ago, and I love it. For the pattern I am using a free pattern designed by Kimberly McAlindin from Red Heart, which can be found here
http://www.redheart.co.uk/node/10274

This is what it will (hopefully) look like when I'm done. Here's what I have so far! The front and back (there will be more added to it later to achieve the look you see in the above pic)

And the beginning of one sleeve!

I don't know why, but I can't seem to get a pic with the proper color. This makes the yarn look much more dark blue than it is. It is a fairly dark color, but it's not this blue. So I'm not sure why that is. In any case, I'm really excited to be making this beautiful cardigan! Let me know what you think in the comments below! Today is a day of many mistakes. Before I start into it, though, here's a pic of my crochet work station right now.

It pretty much sums up how I'm feeling right now. Like a chaotic mess with too much going on. So to begin with, I was putting my latest panel onto the candy hearts blanket and I realized it was short. Like, really short. So I took a closer look at it and...

This is one side. Three hearts, beautiful and correct!

Here's the other side, two hearts. I missed a whole heart while crocheting. So that means taking out all that white edging that I put on last night. and since I already wove in the ends, that meant cutting it up. Not happy. This is what I ended up salvaging yarn wise.

I can't use it again on the edging because the pieces are just too short to be able to be smooth. I have more of the skein left over, thank goodness, but these are all going to have to go into the rug. And here is all my work gone.

Luckily I'll be able to salvage the pink edging and just add a little bit once I've put on the last heart, otherwise I'd really be upset.

So now we come to my second mistake. I start crocheting and I'm nearly done said third heart when...

I realize I've only put two blank spaces between the hearts, rather than three like it's supposed to have. So I have to rip almost the whole heart out. *sigh* it's not been a good day today.

Okay, so I got a bit of work done. I'm almost done this fifth panel. I just have half of the last outline round to do, so I am pretty happy with that.

I am also working on getting the joining stitches on the main blanket to lie flat, but I am only having limited success with that. I'll keep trying though.

Okay, so day two of the shawl. With this pattern every round make it larger, so progress is slowing down. It's going to be a rather time-consuming project, I think. But here it is so far.

Isn't it looking great? It's coming along really nicely, and I hope that I'll get it done within the week. I am going to take a break from it tomorrow to concentrate on the Candy Hearts blanket again. I feel like I'm stretching myself a bit thin with all these projects, and I just want to get them done.

So, it's day two of the shawl. Or rather, a new day one. Turns out I made a major error right at the start of the pattern, so I had to take it all out and start again. As annoying as that was, it is looking better now, at least to me.'

You can see the shawl-ish shape to it in the top photo, with the space for the head/neck. I'm not having the difficulties I had yesterday with it, either. So all in all, worth starting over for. Just not all that fun.

Tomorrow I'll be working more on the shawl still! See you then.

Today's blog is the Lacy Shawl, designed by Kathryn L. Withers from Logo Unique Designs by Kathy
www.uniquedesignsbykathy.com

I'm using a fine yarn that I picked up from a 2nd had store a few years back. So far it hasn't been very tricky, but I'm also only on the 4th round.

So that's it so far. Doesn't look like a Shawl yet, but it will soon! Not tonight though. I am going to watch Moana tonight, and while I usually watch TV while I crochet,  I want to give this movie my full attention.

Anybody else watching something great tonight?
